Adding a Mini-Site and a Page

Starting from your main teacher page, click the Add button located on the top left side, then select Mini-Site from the pull-down menu. Give the Mini-Site a name (e.g. Math, Reading) before clicking the Create button.

You now have a Course Site, but with no pages. Click the Add button in the middle of the screen. Give your page a title and add a friendly URL that you can give out to your students and parents. Now you can choose from a variety of templates. Included are 3 column and 2 column layouts with or without navigation. In most cases you will want to choose a template with navigation so your visitors can easily get back to your main page. Once you've made your choice, click Submit.

Adding Elements to New Page

Unlike your default teacher page, a new page you choose to add will not have any elements on it to begin with. Luckily it is very easy to add elements. Click any of the green + on the page to add an element to that location. The element gallery includes some elements you've already seen on your default teacher page and more. The ones you will most likely want to include for your course site are the Calendar, News, Notes, Locker and Current Assignments. You can  publish content to all of these elements except the locker from your portal page.

Moving Elements on Your Page

If you do not like the placement of an element you've added, simply drag it to another location on the page. Hover your cursor over the body of the element until you see the crossed arrows. Now press down and drag the element to any Plus Sign until the grey bar turns green, then release the mouse.

When satisfied with the layout of your page, click Publish at the top of the page to publish your Mini-Site.
