Elk Grove Township is offering youth helmets for sale at $7. The sale will be held on June 20 from Noon until 4 pm and on June 21 from 9 am until 1 pm.

A helmet can be the single most important way to protect children and adults while bike riding. A helmet reduces the risk of head injury by as much as 85 percent and the risk of brain injury by as much as 88 percent.  More children age 5 to 14 go to hospital emergency rooms for injuries associated with bicycles than with any other sport.
