Institute Planning

This committee is responsible for preparing an annual school calendar for review by the superintendent.

  • Status - Active
  • Type – Operational
  • As this committee is operational in nature, no official BOE rep is needed. However, members may attend committee meetings

Insurance

Oversees the health insurance that the district offers its employees. Membership is dictated by a formal agreement with various employee groups. This committee meets several times each year.

Human Resources

The Human Resources Department is responsible for the recruitment, hiring and the assignment of all employees of the District, with the approval of the Superintendent and the Board of Education.

The department maintains all employee records and monitors the benefit programs for all employees. The department also assists in the planning and development of employee in-services and staff development opportunities.

829 people are employed by the District: approximately 548 certificated personnel and 281 support personnel.

More than 75 percent of the teaching staff holds advanced degrees. The average teaching experience is 12.6 years.
