Device and Protection FormsFormas de dispositivo y de protección

CCSD59’s partnership with families is critical for student success.  In an effort to provide clear communications about student device expectations and student Google account capabilities, responsibility and permission forms have been created and are updated each school year.  Both of these forms must be signed and submitted to your child’s school in order for them to have access to these tools. Please direct any questions or downloading support requests to your school office.

WILL INSURANCE BE AVAILABLE FOR PARENTS?

Parents will have the option to participate in the device protection program to cover damage to the devices. The cost to protect the Nexus 7 is $10, and the cost to protect both the Nexus 7 and Chromebook is $25.  Please see the student device protection plan document for more details and coverage examples.

UNDERSTANDING STUDENT INTERNET FILTERING AT HOME

CCSD59 has numerous safety features in place to keep students safe while using technology tools at school.  While using the internet at school, student devices pass through our network’s internet filters to maintain student safety when searching and browsing.  While using the internet at home, whether on a school device or personal device (tablet, laptop, smartphone, game system, etc.), the device is using a home network.  For families that do not have filtering on their home network and would like to consider adding it, we recommend looking at OpenDNS as an option. Learn more at OpenDNS.com.
