The mission of health services is to create and sustain healthy school and district environments that promote student learning, health and well-being. District 59 staff work with parents and students to keep students healthy and in school.

Health Requirements
Physical ExamThe Illinois School Code requires that children entering preschool, kindergarten (or first grade if kindergarten was not attended) and sixth grade must have had a physical exam within one year prior to starting that grade level. Students of any age transferring from a school outside Illinois must also have had a physical within the last year.
Sports Exam: Students must have a current physical exam to participate in interscholastic and contact intramural sports. Students may NOT try out for a sport without a physical exam. The physical must have been performed within one year of the start of the specific sport.
Immunizations: All immunizations must be current according to the requirements of the Illinois School Code. Students who fail to comply will be excluded from school.
Dental Exam: Students in kindergarten, second and sixth grade must have had a dental exam within 18 months of May 15 of that school year.
Eye Exam: All children enrolling in kindergarten, or entering the Illinois school system for the first time must provide the school by Oct. 15 with proof an eye examination.

Examen físico: El Código Escolar de Illinois requiere que los niños que ingresan al preescolar, kindergarten (o primer grado si kindergarten no fue atendido) y el sexto grado deben haber tenido un examen físico dentro de un año antes de comenzar ese nivel. Examen de Deportes: Los estudiantes deben tener un examen físico actual para participar en deportes interescolares y de contacto intramuros. Los estudiantes NO pueden probar para un deporte sin un examen físico. El físico debe haber sido realizado dentro de un año del inicio del deporte específico.

Inmunizaciones: Todas las inmunizaciones deben estar actualizadas de acuerdo con los requisitos del Código Escolar de Illinois (Illinois School Code). Los estudiantes que no cumplan serán excluidos de la escuela.
