PHOTOS: Families join together as BPAC celebrates Lunar New Year
Families braved the cold for another wonderful evening celebrating with the Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee (BPAC). This time, they joined staff members to highlight the Lunar New Year with a fun event at Holmes Junior High.
Students put together crafts, heard stories to learn the origin of why 2023 is the Year of the Rabbit, won giveaways, and took home a unique Chinese drum kit 2023 is the Year of the Rabbit. Dr. Joshua Perdomo, Director of Multilingual Programs for CCSD59, also shared information about the ongoing vision of multilingual programs and how the BPAC continues to grow. Families and staff also exchanged ideas for how to strengthen school communities to support students through various multilingual programs.
