  • Transition Words  (because, and, also, finally)
  • Conclusion

  • Writing a good sentence

WRITING REALISTIC FICTION STORIES

PLANNING

  • Planning realistic fiction stories: character, setting, problem, and solution
  • Planning the story events using transition words

DRAFT PAPER

  • Strong beginnings
  • Characters Talk- use dialog (speech bubbles and quotation marks)
  • Making the characters come to life (move, think, feel, talk)
  • Stretching the problem
  • Stretching the solution (details)
  • Write a strong ending

WRITING PERSONAL NARRATIVE STORIES

  • Our illustrations tell the stories
  • Writers use words and pictures to tell the stories
  • Writers stretch words like a rubber band
  • Writers add “talking bubbles” and “labels” to the pictures
  • Writers write “Good Sentences” (who/what-did what-where)
  • Writers use transition words

  • Printing the letters
