Art of Design

This studio course offers students an opportunity to explore a variety of two-dimensional media and techniques. Students will explore the elements of art and principles of design using a variety of art media including, but not limited to, tempera paint, acrylic paint, watercolor paint, pencil, colored pencil, mixed media, digital media, and ink. Projects may include drawing figures and faces, drawing in perspective, pop art painting, graffiti spray art, stop motion animation, and mixed media collage. Some art projects will be self-directed, fueled by the students’ own interests based on research in art past and present.

Students will create projects related to the following themes:

  • Zentangle Drawing
  • Drawing in Perspective
  • Pop Art Canvas Painting
  • Artist trading cards
  • Graffiti Art
  • Photography
  • Watercolor Painting
