Students Walk for Peace at Rupley
On September 22, 2014, students and staff at Rupley Elementary School participated in the school’s first Peace Walk. The walk was held as a way to reinforce the school’s mission, “One School, One Voice: the Voice of the Child.”
Students gathered to sing, play music, and learn about being better citizens, and each student created handmade flowers and passed them on to another as a symbol of peace.
Rupley Principal Dr. Thomas Seaton said, “As we address the academic programs of our school, we also work to establish the social/emotional dimension at Rupley. This focus provides students with an environment that is safe and provides students with a peaceful environment in which they can learn. We hope to accomplish this through school wide celebrations such as the Peace Walk.”
