Weather Information
February 1, 2015 @ 8:10 PM
Due to the extreme weather conditions, we will not have school, Monday, February 2, 2015. All activities at all District 59 schools are cancelled, including before and after school activities.
Please know that student safety is paramount in these decisions.
We will post additional information with details regarding our decision to close school for tomorrow in the very near future.

The most current forecasts predict the snow to end at approximately midnight tonight. If the weather follows this forecast, it is possible the snow plows will have time to clear the roads for safe morning travel. The variable that remains unknown is the impact that the wind and blowing snow will have on the successful clearing of the roads. With this being the most current information we have, we are planning to wait to make a final determination regarding tomorrow’s school status until the morning.
If the weather does follow the current forecast, we anticipate having school as usual tomorrow.
In the event that conditions are such that safe travel is not possible in the morning, we will issue an Alert Now by 5:30 AM. We will post notification on Facebook and our website as well.
We truly apologize for not being able to make the decision at this point, but we still know there are a number of variables to consider between now and the morning in order to determine if the conditions will be safe for opening our schools.

We are monitoring the weather very closely, and due to the unpredictable nature of this weather system, we are not at a point to make a determination about the status of school for tomorrow at this point. Along with monitoring the forecast, we are also monitoring all four of our municipalities to get the latest status of their snow clearing efforts, and we have our crews working on clearing snow at all of our buildings this afternoon.
While it is always our goal to make a decision as early as possible to help parents plan, we hope you understand that there are too many impacting variables to make the decision at this point. While it is our hope to make a decision by this evening, the nature of this snow storm may not make a decision possible until tomorrow morning at 5:30 AM.
We will post an update on the website and on our Facebook page at 5:15 PM to provide more information and updates with the latest information we have received at that point. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
