2026 Opportunities
Review opportunities for your child below. Please carefully read the course descriptions to ensure your child is in the grade levels the courses have been designed for. Registration closes on April 17, 2026.
Summer LEAP courses have been designed to give students a “jump start” into learning the content and skills necessary for their next grade level. Students will engage in fun, hands-on activities as they strengthen their literacy and math skills. Spanish Dual Language courses are available for students in Grades K-3, and monolingual courses are offered for students in Grades K-4.
Students entering grades 6-8 will be given the opportunity to choose two enrichment courses of interest. These enrichment courses have been designed to be high-interest for junior high students and support the skills needed to be successful in junior high.
Summer LEAP (Learn, Explore, Achieve, and Perform) courses have been designed as a fun enrichment opportunity for your child to start learning some of the essential reading and math skills needed for the next school year.
The Spanish Dual Language Academy is for K -5 students enrolled in the CCSD59 Spanish Dual Language program. Students who are not currently in a Spanish Dual Language classroom are not eligible for this course. Students will learn literacy skills focusing on appreciation for the Spanish language and culture. This program is designed in collaboration with Roosevelt University.
Each student athlete will learn the basic fundamentals of volleyball, focusing on the proper techniques of bumping, setting, and serving. Students will also learn volleyball terminology and how to properly play in a game. Higher level students will have more focus on enhancing current skill set to improve serve receive, seem serving/passing, and attacking. Each level will compete in volleyball games as students will be grouped into teams.
All athletes will be taught how to wrestle and learn basic positions/techniques. In addition to teaching rules, scoring and providing an overview of the sport, students will be able to train live match situations throughout daily instruction.
This quality program will offer a range of small and large group ensembles through which current 5th – 7th-grade band and orchestra students will perform a variety of music selections. Differentiated small group instruction will maximize each student’s learning and provide an excellent opportunity to learn and perform.

Los cursos de summer LEAP se han diseñado para que los estudiantes adquieran rápidamente los conocimientos y habilidades necesarios para el siguiente nivel educativo. Participarán en actividades prácticas y divertidas mientras fortalecen sus habilidades de lectura, escritura y matemáticas. Se ofrecen cursos de lenguaje dual en español para estudiantes de kindergarten a tercer grado, y cursos monolingües para estudiantes de kindergarten a cuarto grado.
Los estudiantes que ingresan a los grados 6to a 8vo tendrán la oportunidad de elegir dos cursos de enriquecimiento de su interés. Estos cursos han sido diseñados para ser de gran interés para los estudiantes de presecundaria y para desarrollar las habilidades necesarias para tener éxito en este nivel educativo.
Los cursos de summer LEAP (Aprender, Explorar, Lograr y Realizar) han sido diseñados como una divertida oportunidad de enriquecimiento para que su hijo comience a aprender algunas de las habilidades esenciales de lectura y matemáticas necesarias para el próximo año escolar.
La academia de lenguaje dual español está dirigida a estudiantes de kindergarten a quinto grado inscritos en el programa de lenguaje dual de español del distrito escolar CCSD59. Los estudiantes que no estén actualmente en un salón de lenguaje dual español no son elegibles para este curso. Los estudiantes desarrollarán habilidades de lectoescritura, con énfasis en la apreciación del lenguaje y la cultura españolas. Este programa se diseñó en colaboración con Roosevelt University.
Cada estudiante deportista aprenderá los fundamentos básicos del voleibol, centrándose en las técnicas correctas de golpe, ajuste y sirviendo. También aprenderán la terminología del voleibol y cómo jugar correctamente. Los estudiantes de nivel avanzado se enfocarán en perfeccionar sus habilidades para mejorar el golpe, el ajuste y sirviendo, así como el ataque. Cada nivel competirá en partidos de voleibol, ya que los estudiantes estarán agrupados en equipos.
Todos los atletas aprenderán a luchar y dominarán las posiciones y técnicas básicas. Además de las reglas, la puntuación y una introducción al deporte, los estudiantes podrán practicar situaciones de combate reales durante las sesiones diarias.
Este programa de alta calidad ofrecerá una variedad de conjuntos musicales, tanto pequeños como grandes, en los que los estudiantes de banda y orquesta de 5to a 7mo grado interpretarán diversas piezas musicales. La instrucción diferenciada en grupos pequeños maximizará el aprendizaje de cada estudiante y les brindará una excelente oportunidad para aprender y actuar.
