Elementary Report CardsElementary Report Cards(es)

Report Cards are issued at the end of each trimester for students in grades K-5. Both academic skills and behaviors connected to social/emotional and lifelong learning prominently appear on the report card to give parents a balanced view of how their child is doing. Several other companion documents give parents a more detailed view of what is expected in each grade in the fundamental areas.   Teachers will include an explanation letter with the report cards to help parents interpret the report card and a copy of this letter can be accessed through this web page. See below

District 59 elementary schools use a standards based report card.  This means that subject areas are divided into descriptors of the skills and knowledge that students are responsible for learning by the end of the year. The academic marks on the report card (1-2-3-4) indicate a child’s progress toward meeting the end of grade level expectations.

Some of the companion documents are now available for parents through this website. See below.
